Kalki’s debut in mainstream cinema began with the transgender themed Tamil film ‘Narthaki’ where she played the lead role as the protagonist of the film.
Films for her is another medium for social transformation. In 2017, she acted in a parellel Hindi cinema which is yet to be released.
Alternatively, Kalki chooses to make experimental visual works of arts and literature. In early 2018, she made a series of six short poetry films named ‘Vadu’ meaning Scar in Tamil language. A film adaptation from her published poems ‘Kuri Aruthean’, ‘Vadu’ film series had been acclaimed by both the public and the media.
